From the Alberta Family Wellness Initiative website:

Dr. Rahil Briggs (Healthy Steps at Montefiore) sees nurturing childhood experiences that build brains for life-long mental health as the foundation of a successful society. Dr. Briggs found the easiest and least expensive way to determine what children needed family intervention services was to ask their parents the Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE) questions. Parents with the highest ACE scores received the most intensive interventions. She found that supporting child development and treating parents’ mental health problems through the Healthy Steps program promoted healthy social and emotional development.

Briggs was featured in an article about pediatric practices that are integrating ACEs science on ACEsTooHigh.com in July 2014.
