Join the "Friends of Empower Yolo" for an April "Shower for the Shelter" in recognition of Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM) and Child Abuse Prevention Month
In 2020, Empower Yolo advocates served 119 survivors of sexual assault, 60 were children. 272 domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking survivors (of which 76 were children) received shelter or transitional housing for 15,331 bed nights in 2020. Empower Yolo continues to provide survivors of abuse a place to turn to in their moment of crisis. Empower Yolo's essential services remained open throughout the pandemic to support survivors and families in need. For more information about serving sexual assault survivors during the pandemic see our monthly article in the Davis Enterprise at: Challenges in supporting sexual assault survivors.
To help support Empower Yolo during this time, the Friends invite you to participate in a month long donation drive for household needs for Empower Yolo's emergency safe house in support of survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault and human trafficking.
