Resilience documentary - enjoyed by all generations in my family

We had a small group of friends and family over on Sunday evening for the special showing of the Resilience documentary. With some lemonade, chips and crackers and we were all ready. My 80 year old dad and 16 year old son both enjoyed the film and took away the underlying message about understanding where people's behaviors are coming from and how important it is to not ignore these facts. How One Connection at CYW’s ACEs Conference Sparked Awareness into Action

Origins offers a number of training and consulting services. We developed The Basics as a half-day session to provide the foundation to support trauma-informed and resilience practices across sectors and industries. The session includes an overview of the Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE) Study, the neurobiology of toxic stress, the impact of social and historical trauma, and the science of resilience. Real Life Resilience Champions

As she describes in her TED Talk from 2015 , when Nadine Burke Harris stumbled into the world of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), it made her rethink her entire approach to practicing medicine. After finishing her residency, she went to work for California Pacific Medical Center and together they opened a clinic in Bayview-Hunter's Point in San Francisco. As she began her work there, she focused on improving many of the traditional health disparity measures for underserved communities.
