Hi Gail. In looking for another document, I was reminded of our correspondence from three years ago. I had forwarded to you the results of a pilot study I completed in 2014, which demonstrated a correlation between ACE scores and receipt of Social Security Disability Income, and you thought you might have a colleague who was interested in following up on the study.
As I mentioned, the goal of the small study was to hopefully pique the interest of a researcher who could then conduct the study on a larger scale. With, of course, the further goal being that of using the expected significant correlation to inform policy makers about yet another expense to society of child maltreatment, so as to hopefully loosen purse strings when it comes to child abuse prevention/early intervention programs. As I mentioned in the first email message, with SSDI expenses being quite high, now totaling more than $150 billion a year, perhaps connecting this particular series of dots for policy makers might make a small difference in terms of advancing prevention programs.
