I am looking for some lessons on the brain and the impacts of trauma and learning designed for high school students who are refugees. This request comes from a social worker that I’m working with at a local High School. They have a special program for students that are really new to the country and are mostly refugees. The students are frequently frustrated by what they perceive to be a lack in progress and the social worker would like to offer the students a few lessons in the adolescent brain and how the brain is impacted by trauma or at least by displacement and large changes. I’m wondering if anyone a curriculum or lesson plans related to this kind of content for high school aged students who are refugees? thanks!
