That sounds fascinating! My son is in PR with AmeriCorps NCCC doing disaster relief right now. Without knowing anything about your research model and realizing I may be way off base, I can't help but wonder if that organization might be a good partner, as they already have boots on the ground and likely will for some time. Unless you already have contacts in PR, partnering with an organization that's already active there may give you the connections you need to be active quickly. Good luck!
