Thanks, Jane! The article listed under test-retest reliability (and bias assessment) is certainly part of what I am looking for. (And it's great how they turned a mistake to their advantage).

However, this is not comparing the scale to other similar measures nor does it test the various forms of validity, including checks for confounding variables. There's a German version that does some of that, at least based on the abstract, which is also provided in English (I haven't been able to access the actual article... it's behind a $32 paywall...). I don't see anything similar on the CDC site.

And here is an abstract for a scale development article for the Childhood Trauma Questionnaire. I am looking for something similar for ACEs...
