In my experience, Strengthening Families doesn't include education about ACEs science, which can set up a parent for feeling like a failure if they're triggered by their child and don't know why.
A great toolkit to add to Strengthening Families is NEAR@Home, which bills itself as a resource for home visitors to respectfully and effectively address ACEs with families. But LOTS of people use NEAR@Home's materials to educate families, including other social service agencies, physicians, nurses, etc.
The NEAR@Home (NEAR = Neurobiology, Epigenetics, ACEs and Resilience) Toolkit provides detailed information on how to talk with families, including dialogue scripts for providers to use. The toolkit is free to download.
