Asking the ACEs Community if anyone has a protocol, used in a medical setting (not behavioral health), for trauma-informed screening and practice.  And yes, Dr. Nadine Burke Harris' You Tube is fantastic.  What we are looking for is an actual written protocol that we can tweak to our settings.  I'm always about not reinventing the wheel.  Thank you.

I've been looking for the same information for a while, particularly with the adult population.  It seems medical settings are either not informed, choose to opt out due to time constraints, or feel this is something they can't impact.  Most physicians I've spoken to state "what then", meaning after they learn about TIC, what is the process or treatment.  Medical treatments work off of standard protocols with a step wise decision tree, and because TIC isn't that concrete they tend to shy away from implementing the education or creating a protocol.  Good luck, and if you receive a protocol if you could send it to me in a private message that would be great.  I'd hate to miss it. Thanks!

Please take a look at nppcaces.org, which is an initiative of the Center for Youth Wellness (Dr. Nadine Burke Harris' organization). This is a free network for healthcare providers interested in addressing ACEs, including screening, as part of medical practice. Screening tools, examples of protocols, and tools to develop your own protocol are on the site. Hope it is helpful.

In California, Shasta County [N. CA] is doing incredible work, across their whole community. Their YouTube channel shows videos from WIC, Champions, etc.  This video describes their work to bring ACEs education and screening to the community.

Hill Country Health and Wellness Center is including Adverse Childhood Experiences screenings in their treatment plans.
