Is anyone aware of a community that has conducted an ACEs/resiliency public awareness campaign through multiple media venues? We are thinking of launching such a media campaign in my Accountable Community of Health's region in Washington state which consists of 9 counties and 1 tribe for a total population of 710,000 .

ACEs Aware Nation in Scotland. They held a national ACEs conference in September and had tremendous media coverage in the weeks leading up to it. Nadine Burke Harris was one  of the keynote speakers. Scotland has proclaimed that they will be the 1st ACE aware nation! I'm not familiar with all the strategies they are using, but expect that mass media is part of it.

We hosted a free screening of the film Resilience: The biology of stress and the science of hope, with a following panel discussion with professionals who work with children (school superintendent, counselors, local nonprofits) and it went extremely well. This may help get the discussion going, especially if you invite local government officials and other people in child-focused leadership roles.

Is Pierce County included in your efforts? I work at an Early Learning Center, and we are trying to bring the conversation to parents, and there is discussion about ACES and Resiliency within the school district as well. Would be very interested to be part of the effort if there is anything we can do to support! Hi all! I'm happy to share the Stress Health campaign, launched this year by the Center for Youth Wellness. Stress Health is a national campaign designed to help parents and caregivers understand the science of toxic stress, the impact on children's bodies and all of the ways they can help prevent the harmful effects and break the cycles of adversity! We are working on new content every day - we'll be launching a blog later in November and will be translating all of our materials to Spanish in the next few months.
