Hi Janet, it would be helpful to know more specifics about the topic you are looking at.  If you are looking for people in the California  there are many people who are well versed in ACEs, toxic stress and trauma informed care.  Of course Jane Stevens is one - she is an excellent speaker!  There is also a whole group of people in Sonoma County trained as ACE Interfrace trainers who are quite well versed in ACEs material.  Please contact Holly White-Wolf  hwhitewolfe@schsd.org for more information.  Leslie

Thanks!

We're creating a job board and a resource bank, which will include information about people who speak about ACEs science generally, as well as for specific sectors.

Hey, Jane!  I do presentations often in my Spokane Community....from basic to presentations talking about our 1,2,3 Care toolkit, etc..... Have presented to college students in a variety of fields....from Nursing students, to Occupational therapist students, to teachers, to the criminal justice field....etc...There are always lots of great questions and I find it gets people interested in learning more.

Greetings Janet,

I would be most interested in speaking or conducting a workshop in one of your events. I am the Author of "Awaken The Silence When Silence Isn't Golden", founder of Emotional Triage Seminars and Workshops providing impactful and empowering seminars to diverse audiences for over a decade. I speak as a mental health provider and as a survivor’s perspective having an ACE's score of 8, past issues with PTSD, Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID) and psychological integration (fusion) using a faith-inspired recovery approach that I have created and teach nationwide. My life has changed and now, I am passing it forward.

Brief on seminars and workshops:

  • Seminars have been specifically structured to provide cognitive tools to help individuals overcome issues of adversity, past abuses, low self-esteem, misguided attitudes, anger management, poor performance, and less than perfect goal settings one person at a time or for large groups.
  •  Workshops are created to meet the needs of your targeted audiences (i.e. teachers, members of the clergy, social service providers, or mental health providers). Workshops range hourly (minimum 2-hour event), full days and weekend packages are available. We modify our workshops for diverse audiences. For more information, please visit my webpage at www.vivionnekeli.com. I am looking forward to hearing from you or others who may be interested in my services. My cell is 712-303-9441.

Cheers,

Viv

Hi Janet,

I do train about the basics of ACES/trauma science, but I focus on the "now what?" kinds of workshop offerings.

I train and provide workshops on "building trauma informed systems" from a complex systems & social network perspective.  The training includes reflecting on the aforementioned principles with the Self-Healing Communities Model that transformed youth outcomes in Cowlitz County, WA.

I also have developed an approach to trauma-informed teaching that is unlike others.  It's called, "The Regulated Classroom:  Bottom-Up Instruction" and it focuses on building capacity for self-regulation within the educator as a means to student self-regulation.  The approach includes a sensory toolkit and four kinds of classroom practices (Connectors, Activators, Soothers, Affirmations) that are incorporated into classroom routines to create a connected and regulated classroom environment.    Please find an attachment with more detailed information about the approach.  Every workshop participant and place I have offered this training has RAVED about it!  They say, "finally, something about US AND OUR STRESS RESPONSE!"

If I can be of service, please let me know.  Best of luck with your conference...

Cheers,

Emily Daniels
