My colleague/friend is a full time professor for an online University (over 15 years experience). She was wondering if there’s been any work done (publications, research, concept papers) on becoming a trauma-informed community in an online environment.

The experience of trauma cuts across staff, faculty and students, and the rigors and requirements of today’s online higher educational environment provide little “slack” to accommodate process and individual attention.

Does anyone know of resources on this topic?  Thanks so much!

Andrea, I'm following to see what resources others post.  We at ATN have been working with an online K-12 school, both training administrators and staff, and starting this fall parents.

Translating to an online environment has some challenges in building relationships, but some advantages too.

Hey there, I run two online communities. The first is a Facebook group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/realtalkwithrachel. The second is an virtual support group http://rachelgrantcoaching.com/asca/.

Developing, facilitating these groups has been a process of trial and error and I'm happy to share my experience and best practices.

I recently wrote an article on how to be a trauma informed coach and many of those principles apply (attached here).
