Karen Key: EMDR clinicians who are also certified in the O'Shay/Paulsen EMDR protocols-which reportedly address 'traumatic events' occurring between conception and ages 3-7, when we begin to verbally integrate memory, may be a factor to consider. "EMDRIA" may be an appropriate search acronym, as well as just "EMDR". Various 'levels' of skill such as those EMDR clinicians rated as at "Facilitator Level" (highest level-according to one EMDR Clinician's printed newsletter I saw in the mid 1990's). Hopefully the EMDR website will have a search function based on zip code for you.

To find EMDR International Association (EMDRIA) members who have to have the highest level of training, please check the EMDRIA website at EMDRIA.org.  You can see the additional credentials for therapists who are EMDR Certified and even further credentialed as EMDRIA Approved Consultants.  You can find links to websites along with information and videos about EMDR Therapy.
