I was wondering if anyone knew of checklist type measures of trauma informed care. I've seen them before but not for what I'm most interested in --- whether or not a particular "program" is consistent with TIC principles.

A new "health hub" is opening in March next year:

so it's best if it's specifically for a centre that includes Primary Health Care -- things are looking positive for my being able to provide a peer support recovery program for adult survivors of ACEs, with some scope for broadening at least the consultancy aspect to other areas.

For example, the book that was developed using the lived experience of parents with ACEs histories -- was that for women, for men, or both, and is such a book available for men?

Hello Russell, You might be interested in the final report of a SAMHSA virtual conference I participated in on Promoting a Universal Approach to Recovery-Oriented Care in Hospitals and Medical Home Settings. http://brsstacs.center4si.com/...anelOY3EP2Report.pdf

I've also developed a brief trauma-informed approaches scale for a specific project, as well as a self-reflection assessment scale on trauma-informed approaches for peer-run programs.  While I'm not sure I'm allowed to share  these with a wide audience, if you email me at dpenney@ahpnet.com, I'd be happy to tell you more. I was also part of a group that developed a manual on Trauma-Informed Peer Support for Women (which, except for one gender-specific chapter, is really applicable to all people) http://ahpnet.com/AHPNet/media..._REVISED_10_2012.pdf

Plus, my colleague and I offer a 2-day training on trauma-informed peer support.

Many thanks, Jane, again you prove you're a Godsend!

While none of those listed say: "Use this in Primary Care!" there're certainly a couple in various forms of health care, and thus a couple of valuable contacts for following up their thoughts on this, and I'll be doing so.

Best

Russell

PS: thanks especially for sending this on what may well be your Sunday!

Along with partners in primary care, we created a version of the Standards of Practice for health care settings.  It's not on our website yet as it is still in draft form, but we are using it with a couple of clinics.  If you email me at yatchmd@pdx.edu, I would be happy to send it to you in case you want to take a look.

many thanks, Dianne

email sent!

best regards

Russell
