I am looking for sample Trauma Informed Policies. I am in Crawford County, PA and working on a trauma-informed community. Currently, I am researching creating trauma-informed policies and procedures. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

I would recommend looking at any policies related the care, treatment, supervision of staff and clients, specifically along the domains of the principles of TIC- safety, empowerment, respect, collaboration, trustworthiness, cultural and gender identity/respect, peer support, and choice. I hope this is helpful, our facility is a maximum and intermediate mental health facility so it might be difficult to offer you an example that fully applies.

Hi. If you are looking for state policies, Oregon has one (on the Oregon Health Authority, Addiction/Mental Health website) - as do some other states, so you'll find them if you google state trauma policy. Some local organizations in our area have also developed agency-wide policy. We have an example on our website at www.traumainformedoregon.org (look under Resources for Organizations/Providers, but there are probably other good ones I could hunt up for you as well.
