Dear Friends,

I recently founded a non-profit organization. The mission of "Kokoro Kids" is to proactively build and strengthen resilience in young children through movement and education.

I am currently developing a curriculum based on what I call the "7 C's" of resiliency.  24 lessons based on a yoga story and then an activity (story, pre-writing, fine-motor). For example, one confidence lesson is "I am brave!". The children are invited to hear and follow a yoga story about bravery and then as a class we will make a list of times someone has been or might need to be brave.  During the next lesson, hopefully someone will be brave enough to demonstrate a yoga pose for the group!

I can not find anyone else that is doing this in this way. Is anyone here doing this? If so, could we connect please? Any ideas, advice, prayers would be treasures to me!

Over here in Philly, we (Inner Strength Foundation) have a teen mindfulness program that we teach to high school kids. It's not the same as yoga, but we do use a trauma-informed approach that includes resiliency. We have a proprietary CASEL approved curriculum that was developed by the founder. I don't know how helpful that might be to you, but check out our website and let me know if you see anything that might pique your interest.
