Hi Friends,

I am laying the groundwork for my charity, Terra Firma Network, that will provide Skype and in-person therapy to substance addicts. I would love to find a network of therapists that would be willing to provide their services for a large discount to these patients. I would also be more than happy to provide fee subsidies to therapists via donations.

One unique feature of the charity is that I will be accepting bitcoin donations, and will encourage therapists and other workers to be paid in bitcoin. This obviously would not be required, but I think bitcoin has the ability to facilitate global outreach and support for this charity. Bitcoin can be sent and received from anywhere in the world that has Internet access.

The outline of the charity's process for providing help to patients will likely be as follows:

- Potential patients would need to send contact information through the charity's website so that I may have a brief phone interview with him or her.

- The phone interview would be to determine the economic status of the potential patient, so that we can review how much the patient should provide in fees, and how much the charity will provide as a subsidy for therapy fees, if any is necessary (again, I'd love to find a network of therapists willing to provide their services for free).

  • Note: There is a lot of research revealing that patients are more apt to embrace therapy when they provide some sort of monetary value to the therapist, even if it is just $5 - we will likely take this approach.

- A licensed psychologist will administer an ACE test, as well as go through a series of questions targeted at providing the best possible patient-therapist combination. (i.e. Figuring out what gender would promote the most growth for the patient; Determining whether the client would be better suited for Skype therapy or in-person therapy)

- From our network of therapists, match a therapist to the patient that is best suited to meet that patient's needs.

- During the therapy process, we would like both the patient and the therapist to check-in on their respective statuses regarding quality, impact, and growth.

This pretty much sums up the goals of Terra Firma Network. If anyone has any questions, critiques, suggestions, or wants to volunteer, please feel free to contact me on this site, or at my email address - hello@richgodwin.info

Thanks so much to this community!
